enlightened motherhood, among other things – thought-provoking things to think about… :)
I decided to take some of my own photos for product reviews, started putting all my products on the table, and am realizing this is going to be a mission! I may have a bit of a problem…. :0
This morning on my way to work, I was listening to the Elvis Duran morning show on y100 (love!) and Jennifer Lopez (double love!) was in for an interview. One of the questions Elvis asked was, “How often do you clean out your makeup drawer?” I immediately turned the volume up! She admitted to waiting until the last minute (ie, old broken makeup floating around; you know what I mean- we all do it!).
In response to the question, “Are you a beauty product hoarder?”, J-Lo said that she does have a lot of products (not hoarder status!), but only uses her favorites every day. I think it’s safe to say that many of us are in similar situations! Bathrooms, cabinets, and makeup bags may be overflowing, even though only a tiny percentage of those products are actually used. I’m obviously, without a doubt, unquestionably there. Compared to my mother (who has two cabinet and three drawers for all of her products), I am absolutely a hoarder, and it needs to be controlled! At least some good will come of it… My goal is to provide you with fairly objective and informative reviews of these products, with special emphasis on my favorites!
With that being said, I feel inclined to admit that the above picture is only my makeup, samples I’ve acquired, and products I rarely use…. My house is two stories and I haven’t even gone upstairs to gather what I use daily (and the rest of the random overflow of products)!
I think it’s time for a break… 😀
More to come!
A break up for sure!!! I recall several years ago we were making a cross country move – when time for the makeup clean out I counted 72 lipsticks so, I opened them all, lined them all up & realized they were variations of the same colour. At that point it was an easy decision to let go of the excesses & I have stayed true to clean, organized & controlled use of products & makeup ever since……(keep in mind that I am an esthetician, working retail at the time – with lots of gratis from companies) It feels great to be able to just reach for what I need & not have to sort through it all……. thanks for your blog – keep writing!!!
Donna, thank you! I literally laughed out loud when reading your comment! It’s good to hear from someone who once had 72 lipsticks… Makes me feel better. 😉
Eventually my products will be consolidated, especially now that I am seeing everything out in the open!
Laying everything out is definitely an eye-opener…
Yep, throw that make-up out, girl!
Donna, it will get done!!! Thank you for reading and sending your words of support. 🙂
Are you ready for a couple more? I could send you two great summer products from Intelligent Skin Sense, that I named the Dynamic Duo.
